Science challenges
The Near Universe Advisory Panel (NUAP) is one of five advisory panels to the STFC's Science Committee for Particle Physics, Astronomy and Nuclear Physics (PPAN).
A draft document (PDF - 31kB - link opens in a new window) was compiled based on the inputs received from the NUAP questionnaire. This showed the science challenges to be addressed in the Near Universe science area over the next 10-15 years and the facilities needed to address them. The document was compiled taking the inputs received from the NUAP questionnaire and discussed at a community meeting on 9th July 2009 at the Royal Astronomical Society, London.
'A draft strategy (PDF - 377kB - link opens in a new window) was produced and presented (PDF - 3205kB - link opens in a new window) to PPAN in September 2009. A second questionnaire was compiled to address issues raised by PPAN and the inputs were used to create a revised version of the strategy (PDF - 481kB - link opens in a new window) to be presented to PPAN on 30th November 2009.
