Accelerator Science and Technology Centre

Charged particle accelerators are at the centre of a great many scientific instruments, including a range of large scale facilities. These include advanced systems for particle and nuclear physics, neutron, synchrotron light sources and free electron lasers.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council Accelerator Science and Technology Centre (ASTeC) has wide ranging accelerator expertise and participates in design studies and construction projects. In addition, ASTeC runs a programme of world class research and development studies.

ASTeC's enterprising designs enable research capabilities that will lead to advances in a wide range of science and engineering that could greatly improve the quality of all our lives. A vision for the future that really could change our world.
